   Chord Progressions for Guitar Players

 One of the best ways to increase Lead Guitar skills is to Jam (play with other musicians). It may be difficult finding musicians that are willing to sit there and Jam while you are trying to develop your skills.

  

  So the next best thing is Chord progressions!  Use these chord progressions to practice your Lead Playing to. These chord progressions are basic and are only intended as learning tools to allow guitarists to practice their “chops” (feel free to download / save these MP3 files - instructions are below).  Also, check out the incredible gear at the bottom of the page (devices that can also be helpful with increasing your improvising skills).

  

Instructions:
 

Guitar players - these progressions will have drums, guitar, and bass to practice your leads to.

Saving the Files:  It’s ok for you to save these MP3 files and share them with your musician friends.  To save a file - Right Click on RIGHT CLICK TO SAVE then select SAVE TARGET AS then name the file and save it to your PC. 

Be creative; try different notes in different orders, try different scales, try repeating notes, and work on finding all the root notes.  Start slow, the speed will come later.



 

"OTHER" WAYS TO INCREASE YOUR "JAMMING" SKILLS:


Check this out! The DigiTech "JamMan" is another great tool for guitarists to practice their Lead playing to.  All you do is step on the pedal and record a progression and then play it back and "Jam" to it.  It is an awesome effect pedal that is very easy to use.
