Drum Tracks

One of the best ways to increase your Bass jamming / improvisation skills is to “Jam” (play with other musicians / drummers).  It could be difficult finding musicians that are willing to sit there and Jam with you while you are trying to develop your skills.  So the next best thing would be Chord progressions or use Drum Tracks!   Drum tracks are cool because it forces you to find notes to play – and you can make all the mistakes you want (and no one will know but you).  Just click on the file and start “jamming” (and I promise these files will be happy to jam with you over and over without and complaints).

Work on keeping up with the beats, your timing, and the rhythm…

Be creative – try different notes in different orders, try different scales, try repeating notes, try slap and pop, and work on finding all the root notes (all these different ideas are all part of “improvising” – a very important aspect of playing the Bass.
